The 2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is Here, and the New ‘APEX’ Variant Means Business!

Hey everyone, Prakyat here! If there is one thing we love dissecting here at Autocritic, it’s the aggressively competitive sub-500cc streetfighter segment. Just when you thought the middleweight naked category couldn’t get any hotter, Royal Enfield has dropped a massive update.

Say hello to the 2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.

Starting at an explosive Rs 2.49 Lakh (ex-showroom), the 2026 lineup isn’t just about fresh paint jobs. RE has actually listened to the riders, tweaked the handling, and introduced a brand-new, track-inspired APEX variant.

Here is the complete Autocritic breakdown of everything you need to know about the new Guerrilla, and whether it deserves a spot in your garage.

The Big News: Enter the Guerrilla 450 APEX

If the standard Guerrilla felt a little too relaxed for your canyon-carving weekend runs, the new APEX variant is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Royal Enfield has positioned this as the sport-focused twin of the family.

What makes the APEX different?

  • Aggressive Ergonomics: RE has dropped and repositioned the aluminium handlebars. This completely changes the rider triangle, pulling you into a forward-leaning, attack-ready stance.
  • Serious Rubber: The APEX ditches standard rubber for 17-inch, road-biased Vredestein Centuro ST tyres. If you love pushing hard on the tarmac or need extra confidence in wet conditions, these are a massive step up.
  • Cowl Power: Visually, the APEX screams sport. It comes loaded with rim tapes, a sculpted rear seat cowl, and a color-coded front cowl. You can grab it in three mean shades: APEX Red, APEX Black, and APEX Green.

Upgrades to the Dash & Flash Trims

If you prefer the everyday usability of the existing Dash and Flash variants, you aren’t being left behind.

RE has upgraded the footwear on these trims to improved CEAT Gripp XL RE tyres boasting a revised compound and tread pattern for better grip and stability. The Dash variant also gets a beautiful new Twilight Blue paint scheme, along with added rugged elements like handguards and a headlight grille.

Autocritic Tech Tip: All 2026 variants now feature Ride Mode Retention. This means if you switch the bike off in “Sport” mode, it stays in “Sport” mode when you turn it back on. No more annoying menu-digging at every traffic light!

The Heart of the Beast: The Mighty Sherpa

Why fix what isn’t broken? Mechanically, the 2026 Guerrilla 450 retains the brilliant 452cc liquid-cooled Sherpa engine.

Pumping out a very healthy 40 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque, mated to a slick 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, this motor is a proven performer. It sits snugly in the familiar steel twin-spar frame, striking that perfect balance between daily city commutes and spirited weekend blasts.

Up front, the rider cockpit is still dominated by the gorgeous circular 4-inch TFT Tripper Dash, featuring full Google Maps navigation and smartphone connectivity.

2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Pricing (Ex-Showroom)

Royal Enfield has kept the pricing highly aggressive to fend off the competition:

  • APEX Red / Dash Twilight Blue: Rs 2,49,194
  • APEX Black / APEX Green: Rs 2,56,387
  • Dash Shadow Ash / Smoke Silver / Peix Bronze: Rs 2,67,116
  • Flash Brava Blue: Rs 2,72,479

To sweeten the pot, Royal Enfield has also rolled out a massive 7-year extended warranty program (adding 4 years/40,000 km over the standard coverage), plus roadside assistance. That is a massive peace-of-mind factor for touring enthusiasts.

The Autocritic Verdict

The 2026 update proves that Royal Enfield is paying close attention to rider feedback. The introduction of the APEX variant with its dedicated Vredestein rubber and aggressive ergonomics shows they want a serious slice of the sporty streetfighter pie. At Rs 2.49 Lakh, the performance-to-price ratio is incredibly tempting.
